Bizarre video shows two teens riding a dirt bike through the Coastal Grand Mall in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, then crashing into a kiosk before attempting to flee on foot.
According to a Facebook post by the Myrtle Beach Police Department, officers responded to a report that two boys were riding a dirt bike inside the mall with shoppers present at approximately 10:54 a.m. on Wednesday.
In videos posted on social media, two teens wearing helmets re seen riding a small green-and-black dirt bike through the shopping center walkway. The two appeared to be moving toward the locations of Crunch Fitness and Dillard’s, according to The Sun News.
An adult in a blue shirt almost pulled one of the teens off the bike by the back of their shirt while trying to stop them from riding down the mall corridor. The other teen floors the bike and loses control, slamming the motorcycle’s front wheel into a kiosk. At the end of the footage, the two individuals flee on foot after the collision caused the bike to drop to the ground.
The Myrtle Beach Police Department reported that responding officers quickly took the two juveniles into custody. Officers recovered the dirt bike and a dropped cell phone at the scene. No one reported any injuries.
This is just the latest in a string of bizarre incidents involving teens on vehicles
Earlier this month, teens on e-bikes terrorized customers inside a Foothill Ranch, California Walmart by riding around store aisles, prompting employees to contact the local Sheriff’s Department.
The incident occurred on a Saturday afternoon when two teenage boys rode e-bikes through the aisles of the store, nearly hitting customers in the process. By the time deputies with the Orange County Sheriff’s Department arrived on the scene, the boys, approximately 14- or 15-years-old, had left the store. Customers at the Walmart captured video of the incident.
Meanwhile, in an incident similar to the e-bike riders inside the California Walmart, last month, police arrested two Florida teens after a video showed one of them driving a lawn mower inside a busy Target store. In that incident, the mower driver shattered a glass door on their way into the store. The mower incident was also caught on video by store customers.
