Watch A Corvette ZR1 Destroy A Dodge Demon In A Drag Race

Last week, we saw what happens Dodge Challenger SRT Demon races against a Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat. The Demon won, but now we see what the supercharged Dodge can do against a muscle car with a little more giddy-up. The Demon got smoked by a 2019 Corvette ZR1 at the drag strip.

Last month, the 2019 ZR1 hit a top speed of 212 mph and showed exactly why it is the fastest and most powerful Chevrolet Corvette of all-time. The ZR1 is powered by a 6.2-liter supercharged LT5 V-8 engine. While the Demon’s powerplant is a supercharged 6.2L HEMI SRT V-8 engine.

We take you to Virginia’s Richmond Dragway where the 840 horsepower Dodge Challenger Demon took on the supercharged 755 HP Corvette ZR1 last week. In this ZR1 vs. Demon drag race, the Chevy burns the Dodge in the quarter-mile showdown. The ZR1 clocked in with a time of 10.2 seconds at 137.24 mph as it obliterated the Dodge that had an 11.59-second quarter-mile run at 134.17 mph.

Based on specs, the Demon should have won this race. The Demon is rated to go 0-60 mph in 2.3 seconds and puts down an incredible 9.65-second quarter-mile. The ZR1 is said to go 0-60 mph in 2.85 seconds and finish the quarter-mile in 10.6 seconds. But races aren’t won on specs. Many have noted that the ZR1 did have drag slicks while the Demon was not equipped with skinny tires to optimize drag racing results. So maybe with two different drivers and proper racing tires for the Demon, the Dodge could beat the ZR1, but not on this day.
