Rampage Wherever You Damn Well Want In Hennessey’s 1,200-HP Hellephant-Powered Mammoth 6×6 Truck

Go wherever you want in the Mammoth 6×6 because this truck doesn’t give a tusk. The mad scientists at American tuning house Hennessey Performance Engineering have created another road-rampaging beast.

HPE took a 2021 Ram 1500 TRX pickup, which was already a brute of a driving machine with its 702-horsepower supercharged Hellcat 6.2-liter V-8, and somehow created an even more muscular vehicle. HPE dropped in Mopar’s specially-tuned 7.0-liter Hellphant V-8 crate engine that delivers an ungodly 1,200 horsepower, making the Mammoth 6×6 the most powerful truck that Hennessey has ever released in the company’s 29-year history.

Hennessey didn’t stop there. They added a third axle, because why not? This mighty six-wheeled truck also got an all-new truck bed conversion, a fully upgraded off-road suspension, upgraded front and rear bumpers with upgraded LED lights. The unique interior trim comes with upgraded leather and color options. On the exterior, there waits a very angry pachyderm decal on the door.

Hennessey is only making three of the 6-wheel drive Mammoth 6×6 trucks, and they go on sale on September 4, 2020, at 12 noon central time. The Mammoth 6×6 isn’t only the most powerful truck Hennessey has ever offered, but it is also the most expensive. The Mammoth 6×6 has a price tag of $500,000, and that does include the base Ram TRX, shipping, and VAT. This ain’t a Geo Metro. You want a preposterous six-wheeled monster truck? It comes at a price.

“We’re thrilled to be working with Ram TRX,” said founder and CEO John Hennessy. “Mammoth 6×6 with 1200 HP Hellephant engine. is a completely ridiculous idea, which is why we do it. We’re only going to build three examples of this crazy truck, which will probably make this truck the most exclusive and most expensive truck we’ve ever built.”

Over the past few years, the Texas-based HPE has unleashed some monstrous performance trucks that can shame sports cars on the track.

Hennessey Performance souped up a Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk to give it 1,003 horsepower and 892 lb-ft of torque, making this SUV quicker than a Bugatti Chiron that goes 0-60 in 2.5 seconds.

In 2018, Hennessey Performance created the Goliath 6×6 by installing a third axle to a Chevrolet Silverado Trail Boss Z71. With 808-HP, the Goliath can sprint 0 to 60 mph in 4.5 seconds.

Before the Goliath 6×6, there was the VelociRaptor 6×6, a mega-modified 2018 Ford F-150 Raptor. The go-anywhere behemoth features Hennessy-specific 20-inch wheels and six off-road Toyo tires for extreme off-road capabilities.
