How to make S’mores Brownies

Colin Joliat

It’s holiday party season, and nothing will make you the 3rd coolest kid in the room like bringing S’mores Brownies. It’s like a little slice of childhood while you drink away all your current problems.

Let’s start by saying that everyone needs to stop having holiday parties. I have 9 different people throwing parties in the next 3 weeks. No, I’m not that cool. They’re pity invites. But where are these people the other 49 weeks of the year? Is this really the only time you enjoy your friends’ company?

I propose we split the alphabet into A-E, F-K, L-Q, and R-Z. Each group gets to throw a party in their corresponding quarter. Now we can have fun all year! Yahoo for parties! Now onto the good stuff.

The ingredients to make S’mores Brownies are simple – brownies, mini marshmallows, chocolate, and graham crackers shaped like bears.

Betty Crocker, the fictional mom we all wish we had, uses graham crackers, but how can anyone resist putting Teddy Grams on top? I didn’t even know Chocolatey Chip ones existed!

Size doesn’t matter, allegedly, so I only used half of the brownie mix. The other half went into the Cookie Dough Brownie Cups. Look, it’s just me over here. I can’t be eating two boxes of brownies every week.

If I were you I would definitely make the full batch though. People love a thicker brownie.

This might actually be the best photo of all. It looks like a bunch of bears chilling on top of a cloud.

It wouldn’t taste nearly as good at this point though, so don’t give up yet. We’re here to eat not look at pretty pictures. Time to scorch these Boo-Boos!

Ahhh, so that’s why they use graham crackers! There is zero contrast between the color of Teddy Grahams and charred marshmallows. Well how was I supposed to know that? Thankfully this isn’t a beauty contest so I’m still happy with my decision.

It almost looks like one of the hidden image pictures. If you stare into the ‘mallows long enough you can start to see a sailboat. Trust me.

It’s tough to describe how good they are, but my eating habits should be an indication. I ate an entire S’mores Brownie off the spatula in one bite. I think I might have a problem. Actually, problems. Wait and a weight problems.

In any case, this recipe from Betty Crocker is delicious and you should probably make it for at least one of your dozen holiday parties. You might also try Peanut Butter Oreo Cheesecake Bars and Oreo Lasagna. Apparently I have a thing for Oreos.
