Video: sharks swarm surfers in the shark attack capital of the world

In case you didn’t already know, New Smyrna Beach in FLORIDA is the shark attack capital of the world.

So it should come as no surprise to the many surfers who inhabit the water there daily that they’re surrounded by sharks the entire time…yet, according to this video, some of them seemed a bit startled.

According to NatGeo it’s estimated that anyone who’s entered the water at New Smyrna Beach has swam within a mere 10ft of a shark. That, I believe. Growing up in the Sunshine State, New Smyrna was one of the best year-round surfing spots, something that isn’t in over-abundance in the state of Florida.

Sharks on the other hand, are in over-abundance. So let’s all watch this pants-sh*tting video and thank our lucky stars and stripes that we weren’t in the water that day.
