The democratic process has captivated many in this nation in recent months, many have been inspired from the unlikely rise of Donald Trump as the leading Republican presidential nominee. But maybe the person most passionate about politics might be Jessica Soto. She has a vested interest in politics since her mother, Cynthia Soto, was running to retain her office of the Illinois State Representative of the 4th District of Chicago. Soto was so behind her mother’s campaign that she apparently beat the shit out of her mother’s opponent.
Around 9:15 p.m. on March 6, Jessica and her Bradley Fichter were putting up signs for Cynthia Soto by the opposing candidate’s headquarters. Robert Zwolinski, the man competing to unseat Soto for the Office of the Illinois State Representative of the 4th District of Chicago, saw the two and approached them. That’s when shit took a turn for the worse.

When Zwolinski got out of the car to confront them, Fichter punched Zwolinski multiple times before Soto punched him once, prosecutors said. When Zwolinski fell to the ground, Fichter hopped on top of him and began choking him until Soto pounced, prosecutors said.
Zwolinski suffered a broken nose and needed six stitches to close a wound in his forehead, according to prosecutors.
Zwolinski’s girlfriend witnessed the entire attack from the car, prosecutors said. At one point, Jessica Soto allegedly went up to the car with a staple gun in her hand, opened the passenger-side door and threatened the girlfriend.
Jessica Soto and Fichter then drove off, but several witnesses were able to get the license plate number of their car and report it to police.
The most brutal part of the attack may have been that Soto used a staple gun to bury a staple deep into Zwolinski’s forehead. I think Jessica’s passion for politics may be a little misguided.
The political candidate shared the gruesome and bloody photo on his Twitter with the caption, “Politics is a contact sport. Apparently that’s literally the case.”

Zwolinski suffered a broken nose, stitches and he said that Soto grabbed his groin.
About an hour and a half after the barbaric attack, Fichter walked into a Chicago Police station to file a report stating that Zwolinski had attacked him.
In the end, Zwolinski also got savaged in the polls. In Tuesday’s Illinois primary election Zwolinski got manhandled, with the incumbent Cynthia Soto (D-Chicago) nailing nearly 80 percent of the vote.
However, Jessica and Fichter were each charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, aggravated battery causing great bodily harm and aggravated battery in a public place. Fichter was also charged with one felony count of disorderly conduct for filing a false police report about the incident.
And people are complaining that Donald Trump is inspiring violence.
