Seniors at Willis High School in Texas were told by their principal Travis Utecht that pranks would not tolerated. Naturally, being seniors and not giving a flip, they went ahead and turned their principal into a meme. Which then went viral, because that’s how this works.
Now, in case you’re not too hip to the dank memes the kids are using these days, here’s a very quick primer.
One of the hottest memes among the teens these days (at least I hope I am not behind the times already) is called the “Mocking Spongebob” meme. Here’s a couple of examples…

The meme, as you can see, uses a scene from SpongeBob SquarePants episode “Little Yellow Book” in which Bob, as I like to call him, makes a derp face as he acts like a chicken.
You then make the letters in your quote alternate between capital and lower case to indicate that you are mocking whatever someone said. Got it now? Good.
Okay, so, like I said, Principal Travis Utecht told his seniors that if they pulled any pranks they would not be able to walk across the stage at graduation. Their response, which has since been liked over 280,000 times as of this writing?

Here, let me blow that up for you.
So the next question is, did anyone get banned from walking the stage during graduation? Turns out that Principal Utecht is a pretty cool dude and decided not to punish anyone. In fact, he told them to leave it up.
Utecht told BuzzFeed News that he did not know about the SpongeBob meme until after it was hung up in the cafeteria, but thought it was “hilarious.” He added that he has the “best job in the world and the best kids.”

Utecht also said of the prank, “I will take this anytime. Something at my expense is far superior to any damage to property or inappropriate behavior.”
He’s right. It definitely could have been a whole lot worse. Well played, Mr. Principal.
I wish I went to a school like this
