Massachusetts Family Was Arrested After A Drug Lab Was Found In Their Basement Because Blood’s Thicker Than Water

My dad’s favorite saying is ‘blood’s thicker than water’. I know it’s actually only half of the saying, but we’re Irish, not thespians. He rarely misses an opportunity to throw that one in our face as quickly as he possibly can.

“Hey dad, I’m going to have to pass on family dinner tonight because I’m going out drinking to, hopefully, get laid and finally give you a grandson.”
“Yeah that’d probably be fun but, you know, blood’s thicker than water.”
“I…uh…I can move my plans around.”

“Sorry dad, I can’t help you finish up repainting that fourth bedroom no one uses, I have to go to work.”
“That’d be a pretty good excuse to get out of helping your old man in a world where water was thicker than blood, but this isn’t that world.”
“I’ll call in sick.”

“No dad, I can’t get you a beer, I broke my leg last week and can’t walk without assistance.”
“Blood is thicker than wa–”
“Ok fine, let me grab my crutches.”

It really is a never-ending cycle of putting my entire life on hold to help him do stupid shit. Which is what I’m assuming what happened to this family when someone decided they wanted to go into the drug business with their kin.

Via Fox 25:

“A Westford family of four, along with two family friends, were arrested Wednesday after police located a drug lab inside their home.  Police said that upon entering the home on Mountain View Lane, they smelled a strong odor indicating there was a cooking lab inside the house. After a search, police found an active clandestine lab with butane honey oil/hashish oil in the basement.

“These defendants allegedly manufactured a substance composed of nearly pure THC (tetrahydrocannabinol), which is one of the active ingredients in marijuana through dangerous means,” said District Attorney Ryan.

Honey oil labs create a potential for fires and explosions, according to the DEA. SkyFox flew over the home Wednesday and saw officers lining up evidence outside a tree house in the backyard. It’s only one of three homes on the lane.

“My men have been telling me they’ve been seeing a lot of cars going up and down here a lot in the one week we were here, so it seems strange,” said John Darosa, who was working in the neighborhood.

According to police, Bradley Heath, 63, and his wife Diane, along with their children 28-year-old Linley and 22-year-old Bradley lived in the home. They were all arrested; the mother turned herself in after the initial search. FOX25 has also learned that 22-year-old Bradley Heath faced drug charges in May 2013 in a case regarding LSD. He was also charged with reckless endangerment to children after three juveniles overdosed but survived. Twenty-year-old Lindsey Holston, also of Westford, is listed as in a relationship with Bradley Heath on Facebook. Prachi Joglekar, 22, of Groton was also arrested, who is a friend of Linley Heath.

In court Wednesday, they were arraigned on the following charges:

  • Bradley Heath Sr. was charged with manufacturing a Class C substance, possession with intent to distribute a Class C substance and conspiracy to violate the drug laws.

  • Bradley Heath II was charged with manufacturing a Class C substance, distribution of a Class C substance, possession with intent to distribute a Class C substance, possession with intent to distribute a Class D substance, possession of a Class B substance, conspiracy to violate the drug laws and operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license.

  • Diana Heath was charged with manufacturing a Class C substance, possession with intent to distribute a Class C substance and conspiracy to violate the drug laws.

  • Linley Heath was charged with manufacturing a Class C substance, possession with intent to distribute a Class C substance and conspiracy to violate the drug laws.

  • Lyndsey Holston was charged with manufacturing a Class C substance, distribution of a Class C substance, possession with intent to distribute a Class C substance and conspiracy to violate the drug laws.

  • Prachi Joglekar was charged with manufacturing a Class C substance, possession with intent to distribute a Class C substance and conspiracy to violate the drug laws. “

Wow this sucks. Imagine going to jail and not even being able to escape your parents. “Don’t forget to eat your vegetables, son.” “Thanks dad, your constant parenting will totally help me avoid becoming someone’s prison wife.” With all of these people involved, at what point does it evolve from a family activity and become peer pressure? “Ok, show of hands. Who wants to play ‘Chutes and Ladders’ and who wants to go downstairs and illegally cultivate marijuana to distribute for a profit? Ok, we got five for pot and one for the board game. Tough luck, Mikey, we’ll play next time. Get your gasmask.” I’m assuming that the son with the record was the mastermind behind all of this. Maybe the family was a little more strapped for cash than they wanted to admit and he showed them how much he made selling LSD and convinced the whole family to get in on it. Best way to save money is to make sure that no one else knows you’re making it. Big brother can’t tax what he can’t see, no matter how hard he tries.
