Many golfers play for years and never get a hole-in-one. Meanwhile, some people who hardly ever play golf or are just starting out have gotten one.
It’s annoying. At least for those who go years and play round after round of golf and never get a hole-in-one. No, I am not bitter.
So, it is with great chagrin that I would like to report that a 4-year-old boy recently got a hole-in-one at Green Valley Ranch Golf Club in Denver, Colorado. Bonus: it was his first visit to a golf course.
The precocious lad who pulled off the feat, Caden Uyemura, was playing his first round with his dad, Justin, when he made the shot of a lifetime… which, for him, is four years.
“From the beginning, he was incredibly coachable and played remarkably well for his very first round on a golf course,” Justin told USA Today. “I honestly didn’t expect him to make it through all nine holes and was prepared to head home whenever he was ready, especially since it was a very hot day.”
It was on that ninth hole that magic happened
“I couldn’t believe what I was watching,” Justin said. “I stopped recording just before I ran onto the tee box, tackled him up and gave him the biggest hug I could. He was smiling from ear to ear and laughing the entire time.”
Of course, because life is fickle, Justin has been playing golf for more than 30 years and he has never hit a hole-in-one.
“I recorded a lot of his shots that day and that was the one that just I mean, I’ll never forget it,” he told WPLG News. “It was an emotional day.”
So how did Caden manage to do what so many golfers around the world have never been able to accomplish?
“I just hit it hard and it just rolled down and got in the hole,” he said.
As the WPLG News anchor said, “Young fella does not know what he just did.”
