In February, the Philadelphia 76ers made a move to bolster their starting lineup just in time for a late playoff push.

The Sixers added guard James Harden in a blockbuster deal that sent Ben Simmons to Brooklyn. And it’s paid off immensely so far.

In the five games that Harden’s been on the floor, the team is a perfect 5-0. He’s averaging nearly 25 points a night and has helped form one of the most potent 1-2 punches in the NBA alongside Joel Embiid.

Philly is now looking to make a postseason push with their eyes set on the top seed in the Eastern Conference. At 40-24, they sit just a few game back of Miami for the No. 1 spot.

An upcoming meeting with the Nets tonight is making headlines with Ben Simmons set to make his return to the City of Brotherly Love. But that’s not the only big news coming out of Philly this week.

While the Sixers are focused on bringing home a championship this season, they’re eyeing a move for the future, too. Former NBA player Andrew Bogut released a statement regarding a rumor surrounding Philadelphia and one of the league’s top starts.

Bradley Beal Rumored To Be Heading To Philly

Bogut mentions that the 76ers will be going after Washington Wizards guard Bradley Beal this offseason.

Here’s what Bogut had to say on his Rogue Bogues podcast earlier this week.

“I’ve heard a pretty big rumor… Big three to Philly. Brad Beal is trying to get to Philadelphia in the offseason to team up with Harden and Embiid.

It will most likely have to be a sign-and-trade with Philly. But don’t be surprised if a big three forms in Philly. That’s the word on the street.”

That’s huge news for the Eastern Conference, but it shouldn’t come as a surprise.

It was reported that Joel Embiid actually preferred Beal to Harden before the deal was done with Brooklyn. And why not? The guard is posting 23 points, seven assists per night.

Now, Embiid might get both.

Brooklyn already has his its Super Team with the combination of Simmons, Kyrie Irving, and Kevin Durant. Milwaukee boasts Giannis Antetokounmpo and an NBA title, to boot.

Another championship contender could be looming should this deal get done over the offseason.
