Aaron Donald’s NFL Career May Come To An End If The Rams Win Super Bowl LVI

Los Angeles Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald is one of the most dominant players in NFL history. The 30-year-old was drafted with the No. 13 overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft and has been a nightmare for opposing quarterbacks ever since.

Should the Rams win Super Bowl LVI, however, NFL signal-callers may be able to sleep peacefully. According to two-time Super Bowl champion Rodney Harrison, Donald may choose to retire if Los Angeles is able to hoist the Lombardi Trophy.

Donald calling it a career would certainly be a shock. The three-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year is still at the top of his game and is dominating opposing offensive lines every single week.

However, maybe he would rather go out on top than fade away.

2021 was actually a career year for Donald. The NFL added a Week 18 this season, so he had one more game to do so, but had it been the standard 17 weeks, it would probably have been his best-ever anyway.

Donald recorded 76 total tackles and 12.5 sacks in 2021.

He had eight more sacks in 2018, but 32 less tackles. He had 67 tackles in 2015, which was the second-most in his career by a 14 tackle margin, but had only 11 sacks.

If the Rams do win the Super Bowl and Donald does choose to hang up his cleats, he would be a first-ballot Hall of Fame selection without question. We shall see.
