We’re beginning to learn more about the fallout between the NY Jets and Aaron Rodgers. Last week, Fox Sports’ Jay Glazer reported that Rodgers flew out to New Jersey to meet with the Jets, and they told him that they were moving on.

“Aaron Rodgers flew back to New Jersey last week to meet with the Jets about his future with the team, only to be told that the team was moving on from him. If that means that he will be a June 1 designation that allows him to sign with any team in the league on March 12 if he decides to continue to play. Given that Aaron made the effort to fly back to discuss his future, all signs point to him continuing to play. It just won’t be for the Jets.”
The Jets made their move official when they thanked Rodgers for his service with the team while deciding to move on.
We have informed Aaron Rodgers that we will be moving in a different direction at quarterback.

The NY Post is now reporting that Rodgers “aggressively urged” the Jets to keep him as QB and that he “slipped into darkness” when they rejected him.
“Concerned that his career could end with a whimper, Rodgers, 41, aggressively urged the Jets to stick with him for another season or two over the course of multiple conversations last week, a well-placed source told The Post,” Helling and Dunleavy said. “When the Jets decided to move on anyway, Rodgers accepted his fate ‘like a man going to the gallows,’ the source said, and slipped into the darkness for a few days.”
It’s currently unclear if any team is interested in Rodgers’ services, but it can’t be good that the Jets kicked him to the curb.
