AJ Brown has long been one of the league’s best receivers, and people found out truly how good he was when he was traded to the Philadelphia Eagles prior to the 2022 season. Since, he’s been on an absolute tear.
Brown missed significant time this season with a hamstring injury, but has been unstoppable when he’s been on the field. In fact, he’s been the best receiver in the league according to advanced stats.
Brown, a sixth-year player out of Ole Miss, had just under 3,000 receiving yards in his first two years in Philly after coming over from the Tennessee Titans in a trade that I’m sure the Tennessee Titans would love to have back. His impressive combination of strength, route running, and hands make him pretty much unstoppable.
And, you can tell the difference in the Eagles offense when he’s not in there. When Brown missed three contests with a hamstring injury this year, the offense struggled mightily. When he plays, they’re 4-0,
He’s put up huge numbers, catching 21 passes for 408 and three touchdowns in four games. He has at least 84 yards in every game, and has proved to be uncoverable.
Just how good has he been? Take a look at this chart.
I’m not saying AJ Brown is the best WR in the NFL. But I’m not not saying it. pic.twitter.com/4vPfZ0ZHRl

AJ Brown has been far and away the best wide receiver in the NFL per route run. I think when people debate the best receiver in the NFL, he’s often left out of the conversation. But, he should be at the top of the list.
