Andre Drummond Gracefully Reacts To Kristaps Porzingis Dunking On His Face And Staring Him Down

Andre Drummond had a very bad day on Thursday. Not only did his Pistons lose to the Mavericks in Mexico City, but the Pistons center was almost ruled out due to a serious allergic reaction to a, wait for it, avocado.

The reaction caused significant eye swelling to the point that the poor bastard was forced to wear sunglasses indoors to protect himself from inflammation.

To add insult to injury, Kristaps Porzingis nearly sent Drummond into an early grave after the Latvian center posterized him late in the fourth quarter of a 122-111 Mavericks win. The attempted homicide was exacerbated by a stare down that amounted to cruel and unusual punishment, given Drummond’s recent handicap.

Despite the obvious disrespect, the Pistons big man gracefully recognized that he was victimized by Porzingis.

A true veteran move here by Drummond. Outwardly being self-depreciating is a way to control the narrative. If you’re your biggest critic, all other critiques are deemed powerless.

If it’s any consolation, Drummond can hang his hat on the fact that he had a team-high in points (23) and rebounds (15).

If just sucks that he was also victimized by the re-creation of a famous Renaissance painting.

Matt’s love of writing was born during a sixth grade assembly when it was announced that his essay titled “Why Drugs Are Bad” had taken first prize in D.A.R.E.’s grade-wide contest. The anti-drug people gave him a $50 savings bond for his brave contribution to crime-fighting, and upon the bond’s maturity 10 years later, he used it to buy his very first bag of marijuana.
