Arch Manning is currently the Number 1 overall college football recruit in the 2023 class. And he’s committed to the University of Texas Longhorns.

Without ever putting on the pads in Austin, Arch Manning is already ranked #4 on the NIL leaderboard with a projected NIL value of $3.4 million right now, sandwiched between Caleb Williams ($3.2M) and Bryce Young ($3.5M).

Arch Manning finished high school by owning every single Passing and TD record at his high school. He will soon head to Austin, Texas to join the Longhorns and hope to bring the program back to the national stage.

Arch Manning reveals his role in College Football recruiting at Texas

Steve Wiltfong of 247Sports recently scored an interview with Peyton and Eli Manning’s nephew.

The #1 overall recruit in the nation revealed which fellow recruits he’s targeting to convince to join him in Austin, Texas. He also revealed what it was about the Longhorns that convinced him to commit.

Arch Manning on which fellow recruits he’s trying to convince to join the Texas Longhorns:

“We’re working on (four-star WR) Deandre Moore from Bosco in California, he’s a good player,” Manning said. “We’ve got to make sure everyone stays and signs and I’m working on (five-star tight end) Duce Robinson, he’s a stud, we need him. And obviously (five-star linebacker) Anthony Hill.”

Manning on what sold him about Austin, Texas and the Texas Longhorns:

“I really enjoyed Austin as a city itself,” Manning said. “I liked the coaches and I got along with my host (Michael Taaffe and Connor Robertson) and current players there and I feel we can build something special there in the next few years and I have a lot of trust in Coach Sark. I also like my signing class a lot. I think we’re going to finish out well and have a good class.”

“Obviously Coach Sark has a rich history,” Manning said. “He’s developed a lot of good players and been on some good teams. I think they’ve gotten better this year and they’re going to keep getting better and I’m excited to be part of it.”

The young Manning didn’t mention the reported $280,000 that Texas supposedly spent on his official recruiting visit.

Arch went on to say he’s “ready to get to Austin” which should clear up suspicions that Arch Manning could reopen his recruitment at some point. This is the reason Arch gave for choosing the Texas Longhorns:

“I think the great tradition and fanbase and everything about Texas football excited me,” Manning told 247Sports on Monday, making his first public comments about the commitment. “I’m glad I can one day be part of it.”

The Texas Longhorns should, in theory, be a perfect fit for Arch Manning. It puts him in the SEC (once Texas moves) but not at the same schools as his famous relatives, Peyton and Eli Manning.

Will Texas turn it around with Arch?

The Longhorns are the premiere program of the Lone Star State, despite what some Texas A&M alumni might believe.

All it will take is a little momentum for the Longhorns to start competing with Nick Saban’s Alabama for the #1 overall recruiting class because they already have the NIL infrastructure in place.

Texas signed the #5 overall recruiting class in 2022. Their class was sandwiched between Notre Dame at #6 and Ohio State at #4. Rivals has Texas’s college football recruiting class ranked 5th so far in 2023.

That current class includes 5-star and #1 overall recruit Arch Manning as well as 12 4-star recruits and 8 3-star recruits.

The 4-star WR recruit Arch Manning mentioned, Deandre Moore, is currently ranked 124th overall. Currenty ‘forecasts’ give him over a 50% chance of committing to LSU.

The other recruit Arch Manning mentioned was tight end Duce Robinson from Phoenix, Arizona. Duce is the #1 ranked tight end and the #24 ranked overall recruit. He is listed as ‘undecided’ on Rivals but they also give him a 100% chance of choosing USC…

If Arch Manning is able to convince those two offensive weapons to join him in Austin, the Texas Longhorns could be eyeing a trip to the College Football Playoffs in the near future.
