Last year, the Pittsburgh Steelers found themselves embroiled in more drama than an episode of your Real Housewives series of choice and it’s safe to say they didn’t exactly have the most stable locker room in the NFL.
The biggest storyline of the season may have been Le’Veon Bell, who had his locker raided after deciding he’d rather lose out on millions of dollars instead of putting his body on the line while playing under what he perceived as an exploitative contract.
However, Ben Roethlisberger did what he could to top him when he caused Antonio Brown to go AWOL after chewing him out at practice toward the tail end of an incredibly frustrating season for virtually everyone involved.
While it likely wasn’t the sole factor, it didn’t take long for Brown to request a trade following the incident and he’d eventually get shipped off to the Raiders in a transaction that was so lopsided that not even Madden would allow it.
Brown didn’t exactly hide how he felt about his former quarterback and caught some attention when he seemingly trolled Roethlisberger over his sexual assault allegations shortly before putting him on blast for what he perceived as an “owners mentality.”

The franchise QB is apparently allowed to say anything he wants about the team without fear of institutional retaliation, but despite the free pass, it appears he regrets exercising his right to free speech.
According to Larry Brown Sports, Roethlisberger says he’s seen the error of his ways and apologized for how things went down.
Ben Roethlisberger's first comments to @KDPomp and @KDKA on Antonio Brown: "I took some heat and deservedly so for some of the comments on that show and especially towards him. I genuinely feel bad about that and I'm sorry. Did I got to far after that Denver game? Probably…"

Roethlisberger continued on AB: "That's the thing about media and social media, As soon as you say 'sorry' it only goes so far. You can't take it back. And I wish I could because if that's what ruined our friendship and relationship, I'm truly, genuinely sorry about that."

Better late than never, I guess.
