Rob Gronkowski Would Be So Proud Of The ’69’ Joke Bill Belichick Dropped At A Press Conference

A few months ago, the NFL lost an absolute treasure when Rob Gronkowski announced he was retiring from the league following nine seasons with the Patriots after deciding he wasn’t doing his body any favors by continuing to play football.

Gronk will go down in history as one of the best tight ends to ever play the game, and while I certainly loved watching him on the field, I think I got even more enjoyment from his antics off of it and nothing entertained me more than his love of the number 69.

Gronkowski’s obsession with the sex number is incredibly well documented. In addition to offering Shaq Mason $69,000 to buy the jersey number off of him, he once requested a total of 69 tickets to the Super Bowl for his friends and family and also raked in a solid payday after betting $69 on his horse in the Belmont Stakes.

Sure, it did get him into trouble every once in a while but anyone who was seriously mad about his sophomoric sense of humor takes life far, far too seriously.

Gronk might no longer play for the Patriots but it appears his legacy still lives on in the organization thanks to a fairly unlikely source: Bill Belichick.

On Monday, the coach was chatting with reporters when he was asked to address comparisons between Dan Skipper and Nate Solder, who both stand at an impressive 6’9″.

As you can see, he found his answer incredibly amusing.

Gronk might be gone but it’s safe to say he’s not forgotten.
