The drama surrounding the North Carolina football program has continued this week following a few recent bombshell reports from Pablo Torre. The journalist provided in-depth insight to what he believes is going on behind the scenes in Chapel Hill.
He was recently asked if the distraction of Bill Belichick’s relationship with Jordon Hudson could lead to the coach and university cutting ties. He thinks there’s a “real chance” it happens, and sooner rather than later.
Belichick and his much younger girlfriend have made constant waves upon arriving at UNC. Unfortunately, much of the attention has been negative following that initial splash hire.
A near 50-year age gap has been a talking point, as has been the timeline of their dating history. Torre recently suggested that Belichick met Hudson when she was 19 years old, which contradicts the couple’s initial story. It’s been far from the only headline, though.
Hudson has dated much older men in the past. It wasn’t necessarily a shock to those that knew her personally. What has been a surprise is what’s followed with their relationship now under the microscope.
Recent reports claim she built up an $8 million real estate portfolio soon after meeting Belichick. Those claims led some to ask if the coach was a victim of “elder abuse.”
Jordon Hudson is seemingly in control of everything related to Bill Belichick. She’s included on all of his UNC emails. She’s the self-named COO of Belichick Productions. She was influential in nixing an HBO documentary set to follow the coach’s first year in the NCAA, yet her actual job is still unclear.
Many of these storylines went public after she went viral for throwing a tirade during a CBS interview. Hudson refused to let Belichick speak on their relationship and reportedly stormed off the set. She later posted a statement from Belichick alleging that the sides had previously discussed off-limits topics prior to the segment. CBS refuted those claims.
Jordon Hudson has become a headache for North Carolina.
Some within the program have become worried about her constant presence and influence on the head coach. Pablo Torre suggested that it led the university to take steps in limiting her access.
UNC banned Jordon Hudson from the football facility, according to Torre. He stood by his reporting after the school released a statement rejecting the claim.
While Jordon Hudson is not an employee of the University or Carolina Athletics, she is welcome to the Carolina Football facilities. Jordon will continue to manage all activities related to Coach Belichick’s personal brand outside of his responsibilities for Carolina Football and the University.”

Torre doubled down on that initial insinuation this week. He appeared on the Dominique Foxworthy Show to dive further into the relationship and the drama that surrounds it.
Bill Belichick can leave if he’s unhappy with how his employer treats his girlfriend.
Do you think Bill Belichick makes it to Week 1 with UNC after the recent reporting about his relationship with Jordon Hudson?

Torre again suggested that North Carolina is attempting to limit Hudson’s access. He also said that “active questions” are being discussed about a potential firing of the head coach before he’s even coached a game.
Torre is not the only person reporting on rumors that UNC is looking to distance itself from Hudson. The off-field storylines have become a dark cloud over the program.
The Tar Heels, unfortunately, have the difficult task of appeasing both their head coach and frustrated boosters. One wrong move could lead Belichick to leave. In fact, there’s an escape plan already written into his contract.
“The date that matters is June 1st,” Torre said. “When this contract was reported… everybody who follows contractual language pointed out that on June 1st, the buyout of Bill Belichick goes from $10 million to $1 million if Bill wanted the escape hatch.”

When initially reported, the buyout seemed UNC’s way of preventing Belichick from bolting for an NFL job. Now, it could be a way for the coach to walk at a much lower price, even without having NFL interest.
If he grows tired of how his girlfriend is being treated, Torre suggests Belichick could leave before the 2025 opener. It would certainly be a dramatic end to what’s become the most dramatic saga in the college football offseason.
