Anyone who has watched the Iowa Hawkeyes football offense the last few years knows that it has been absolutely dreadful. The unit, led by longtime head coach Kirk Ferentz’s son Brian Ferentz, is so bad it’s funny. Let’s look at some great highlights from last season.

Spencer Petras. Yikes. Iowa is in a battle with SDSU. pic.twitter.com/YWgfNVgnY4

Out 131 teams last year, Brian Ferentz’s unit ranked a remarkable 130th in total offense, with just 251 yards per game. Five teams averaged that in a half last season. But, Kirk Ferentz did what Kirk Ferentz does, and that’s nepotism. Any other program in America would have fired their offensive coordinator, but not Kirk Ferentz and Iowa, much to the chagrin of Hawkeye fans and to the laughter of everyone else. Though, his revised contract this year is heavily based on incentives, with 25 points per game being the total needed for Brain Ferentz to get the full value of his deal.
Brian Ferentz was available to the press on Thursday for an annual spring football press availability, and his comments did not inspire confidence from Hawkeyes fans.
Brian Ferentz asked if he has a message for the Iowa fans who are running out of patience with the offense.

Great question from @ScottDochterman about Brian Ferentz’s new contract being points-based.
BF with a strong response to it.

Brian Ferentz when asked by @ScottDochterman if he’ll approach things differently this season with the 25 or more point per game clause.

Brian Ferentz says that they are approaching this off-season with the same focuses as past years: We are doing the same things, but we are going to do them better.”
Says there won’t be notable changes to the offense.

And, Iowa fans are not happy with the comments. Why would they be? He basically plans to change nothing from a putrid offense.
Yikes. Guess they like what they saw last year and the year before.
Too bad it had us lose winnable games, and have the team be the laughing stock of all CFB, but at least dad was happy right?

Until we..the fans boycott a game and get The attention of the administration nothing will change. I say we show up to game , tailgate but no one goes in until end of 1st qrt. Make a national statement.

I hate it. Brian doesn't care. He's got job security no matter what. Even with the new benchmarks there's no way he gets fired if they don't meet them. Gary and daddy will just move the goalposts again.

The Iowa offense should be better solely based on the fact that they have replaced the terrible Spencer Petras with Michigan transfer Cade McNamara. McNamara is no superstar, but he was a steady hand who helped Michigan win the Big Ten and reach the College Football Playoff in 2021. But, I’m sure Brian Ferentz will ruin it.
