The NFL has suspended Brock Rechsteiner, the son of WWE Hall of Famer Scott Steiner and cousin of WWE star Bron Breakker, for six games.
Rechsteiner, who is in his rookie season in the NFL, is currently in training camp with the New Orleans Saints after initially signing with the Tennessee Titans as an undrafted free agent after not being selected in the 2026 NFL Draft.
The 6-foot-2, 225-pound wide receiver was signed to an NIL deal by the WWE while he was in college at Jacksonville State. His cousin, Bronson Rechsteiner, was signed as a free agent fullback by the Baltimore Ravens after he went undrafted in the 2020 NFL Draft. The son of WWE Hall of Famer Rick Steiner, Bronson did not make the team and went on to sign with the WWE.
The New York Post reports that the exact reason for Brock Rechsteiner’s suspension by the NFL was not made clear. While he will not be able to play in any of the Saints’ first six regular season games, he will still be allowed to be named to the practice squad while suspended. He can also still participate in training camp and the Saints’ three preseason games.
If football doesn’t work out, Brock Rechsteiner has a pretty good backup plan
After signing his NIL deal in February 2025, Brock Rechsteiner admitted he plans to work for WWE once he finishes football. And like his dad, he wants to wrestle alongside his brother, Brandon Rechsteiner, who will be playing basketball for his third college in four years this coming season.
“My dream for me and my brother would both be to do the best we can in what we do, which him for football, me for basketball,” F4WOnline.com reports Brandon said. “And then, for my brother, I know he really wants to [be in] WWE. He has signed an NIL deal with WWE. So my dream for him would be to do really good in football, try to take it to the NFL, whatever that means, and then, he will be a WWE superstar because he’s so talented and he has the charisma that my dad has.”
