The name Rechsteiner may not be very familiar to football fans, but it certainly means something to professional wrestling fans. That’s because it is the real last name of WWE Hall of Famers Rick and Scott Steiner and current WWE star Bron Breakker.

The name Brock Rechsteiner may also not be familiar to football fans because he played the past three years for Jacksonville State in Conference USA. They might some day soon, though. That’s because the 6-foot-2, 225-pound wide receiver just signed with the Tennessee Titans as an undrafted free agent after not being selected in the 2026 NFL Draft.

In three seasons with the Gamecocks, Brock Rechsteiner played in 37 games, catching 53 passes for 629 yards and seven touchdowns. In addition, he and his brother Brandon were signed to NIL deals with WWE while they competed in college. The 6-foot-1, 185-pound Brandon played basketball at Colorado State during the 2025-26 season, averaging 12 points per game. He spent his first two years in college playing for Virginia Tech. For the 2026-27 season, he transferred to Kansas State.

If football doesn’t work out, there’s always the WWE

“My brother, he’ll be a superstar in the WWE, for sure. Growing up, I was the big WWE fan,” F4WOnline.com reported Brandon said after signing his WWE NIL deal in February 2025. “I mean, I had every action figure. I was the biggest WWE fan. You couldn’t tell me I wasn’t going to be John Cena when I was younger. And then I kind of — I was just that kid that was trying to go against everything. So my dad was a Michigan fan, I wanted Ohio State to win. My dad was a wrestler, I was like, ‘I don’t want to wrestle. I want to play basketball.’ Like, I was that kid. But when I was young-young, I loved it. And then when I was in middle school, I was like, ‘I’m not going to wrestle.’

“But now — my dream for me and my brother would both be to do the best we can in what we do — which him for football, me for basketball. And then, for my brother, I know he really wants to [be in] WWE. He has signed an NIL deal with WWE. So my dream for him would be to do really good in football, try to take it to the NFL, whatever that means, and then — he will be a WWE Superstar because he’s so talented and he has the charisma that my dad has.”

Professional wrestling success runs in the family

The Baltimore Ravens briefly signed the Rechsteiner brothers’ cousin, Bronson Rechsteiner, as a free agent fullback after he went undrafted in the 2020 NFL Draft. The son of WWE Hall of Famer Rick Steiner, Bronson played four years for Kennesaw State, rushing for 1,496 yards and nine touchdowns in 48 games.

Now going by the name Bron Breakker, Bronson, 28, has won the WWE Intercontinental Championship twice, the NXT Championship twice, and the NXT Tag Team Championship once.
