There is no denying that Bubba Watson is one of the most creative – and maybe most hated – golfers on the planet, we’re used to him pulling off insane shots, but his latest stunt on a Par 5 at the ZOZO Championship has us all wondering what the hell he just pulled off.

What you’re about to see is a completely legal shot as he did indeed tee his ball up behind the tee markers, but the line he takes off the tee is something never seen before. Watson literally hits it 90-degrees right from the tee box in an attempt to cut the corner at the Par 5 sixth hole.

Even thinking about this line and having the brain to look at a golf course like this is insane, but the window he had to squeeze the drive into is beyond insane. If he catches that tree five yards in front of him and the ball comes back and hits somebody they may have dropped dead on the spot.

I would’ve never thought about this type of route at all, but as a left-handed golfer that loves to hit a controlled banana slice off the tee, I can totally respect it.

The graphic showing the ball-flight paints the picture of exactly what Watson was attempting to do in cutting the corner. Over a lake, over a handful of trees and landing on a completely different hole; what a move.

Unfortunately, Watson only managed to make par on the hole but it may have been one of the most electric pars of all-time.

Watson finished T-51 at the ZOZO while Tiger Woods went on to win the event by three shots.
