One of the coolest traditions at the Players Championship happens on Wednesdays when caddies try to hit the famed island green on the Par 3 17th at TPC Sawgrass.

It’s a full-days worth of competition and the tournament actually keeps track of the closest shots and crowns a champion caddie each year.

There has been a fair share of embarrassing shots and great ones over the years, but Simon Keelan may have pulled off the most impressive caddie attempt of all time.

Keelan, the caddie of Seamus Power, is left-handed. That’s a problem seeing as how Power is right-handed as were the other players in his practice round group on Wednesday.

This left Keelan having to improvise, so he did the natural thing of flipping an 8-iron upside down so he could swing the club left-handed.

For those that have never hit a golf ball with an upside-down club, it’s extremely difficult, it’s tough to even make contact with the ball.

It wasn’t too big of a deal for Keelan, however, he managed to make perfect contact and find dry land.

Talk about a shot you’ll never forget. Turning an iron upside down and hitting the island green is as cool as it gets.

Golf Digest did some digging on Keelan, and it turns out he’s a very, very good player. He’s a plus 5.3 handicap and won his club’s club championship last year.
