Chiefs wide receiver Kadarius Toney is speaking about the offensive offsides penalty that cost the Chiefs the game vs. the Bills last week.

During Sunday’s BillsChiefs game, Toney was called for offensive offsides on the same play his teammate Travis Kelce made an amazing lateral pass that would have given the Chiefs the go-ahead lead late in the game.

The offsides penalty led to a furious Patrick Mahomes to curse out the refs.

Nearly a week later, Toney spoke to the media about the call and blasted the refs for not giving him a warning for being offsides.

“Whether it was, an inch, two inches, whatever in front of the ball, the referee got a job to let me know,” He didn’t make no effort. You watch the video, he didn’t make no effort to say anything about no alignment. So apparently, he wanted to do that regardless. But like I said, we’re just going back to the details and just make sure we fine print everything.”

Toney went on to say that the refs robbed Kelce of his amazing highlight.

“Unfortunately, they took back the greatest play the greatest tight end that played the game did,” Toney said. “Just a great play taken back by the greatest tight end.”

NFL ref Carl Cheffers has already gone on record to say that he didn’t have to give Toney a warning because Toney was “lined up so offsides” that he was blocking the refs view of the ball.

“Certainly, no warning is required, especially if they are lined up so far offsides where they’re actually blocking our view of the ball.”

“If it’s egregious enough, it would be beyond a warning. So really regardless of whether or not he was warned at other times during the day, if it was an egregious alignment to where he was over the ball — whether he had warnings or not — it would still be a foul.”
