In a surprising twist to his already impressive start to the 2023 NFL season, Dallas Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons has revealed that he’s been taking snaps on the offensive side of the ball.

Parsons, a two-time All-Pro, has been nothing short of dominant on defense through the first two games of the season, accumulating four tackles for loss, three sacks, and a forced fumble.

During an appearance on “The Pat McAfee Show” on Tuesday, Parsons dropped the bombshell that he had been participating in tight end drills during recent practices, with the approval of head coach Mike McCarthy.

“Big Mike [McCarthy] actually let me get a couple scout team reps at tight end,” Parsons shared on the show. “He might not let y’all know that, I probably shouldn’t have spilled the tea.”

While these tight end reps are currently designated for scout team purposes, it does brings on the question on if Parsons actually see some snaps during real games.

While the NFL no longer features full-time players who switch between offense and defense, notable defensive players such as former Vikings DE Jared Allen, former Texans DE J.J. Watt, and current Titans head coach and former Patriots LB Mike Vrabel have successfully played tight end during their careers, scoring touchdowns and contributing in critical moments.

Should Micah Parsons ever see action on offense for the Cowboys, it wouldn’t be surprising to witness him excel in this newfound role.
