Deion Sanders has not publicly acknowledged Kaidon Salter’s recent signing in the CFL. The snub comes after the quarterback’s pettiness related to his NFL Draft omission.
Is there a legitimate beef?
The Colorado football coach has reposted a series of NFL announcements involving other former players. He continues to be silent on social media with Salter.
Kaidon Salter stiffed Deion Sanders.
The signal caller spent his final college season in Boulder leading the Buffs. It was a forgettable campaign for everyone involved.
Salter took a clear step back, evidenced by a decline in production. The passer was eventually benched as the team went 3-9.
He declared for the NFL Draft in the offseason but went undrafted. After the selection process, he secured a rookie minicamp invite from the Titans.
Upon landing that opportunity, he took a moment to show gratitude to his mentor. It was not Coach Prime.
Instead, Salter thanked Hugh Freeze for his development while at Liberty. The Flames took a chance on the quarterback after he was dismissed by Tennessee.
THANK YOU TO HUGH FREEZE LIBERTY AND FOR TAKING A CHANCE ON THE KID NONE OF THIS WOULD BE POSSIBLE WITHOUT YOU

Sanders did not acknowledge Salter’s invite. He did offer words of encouragement to Deigo Pavia, however, after seeing the Vanderbilt signal caller go undrafted.
“I BELIEVE IN YOU MAN,” Sanders wrote on X. “Stay strong and don’t let up.”
Sanders’ post came at 9:33 PM ET on April 25th. Salter’s supposed shade came eight minutes later on the same platform. It appeared a clear shot.
In the days that followed, Coach Prime has reposted signing announcements for former players Kahlil Benson and Amari McNeill. There’s been nothing referencing Kaidon Salter.
Kaidon Salter was signed by the BC Lions.

It’s been almost 24 hours since that announcement was made public. At the time of this writing, Sanders has not reposted the signing on either Instagram or X.
We do not know if Sanders has reached out personally. All we have to go on is social media. Given the coach’s excitement to congratulate other former players online, Salter’s snub is notable. Some might say intentional.
Sanders started his week with a message reading, “No drama, no mess that creates stress, & no loud talking!” Still, the drama has been able to find him.
Salter will now look to continue his football career in the CFL, with or without the support of his old head coach.
