Two-way CB/WR Travis Hunter announced his commitment to the Colorado Buffaloes, following new Buffs head coach Deion Sanders to Boulder.

The former #1 overall recruit of the 2022 College Football Recruiting class became the first 5* ‘croot to sign with an HBCU. Hunter was swayed by Deion Sanders’ background as a cornerback, kick returner, punt returner, and wide receiver.

Speaking with Shannon Sharpe, Deion Sanders revealed his amputated toes on camera for the first time in a moment that cannot be unseen. In another portion of the interview, Deion talked about why Travis is following him to Colorado and what makes Hunter such a special player:

Coach Prime described Hunter’s work ethic as “unparalleled” and says that Travis isn’t “scared of the moment.” Deion thinks “a lot of guys are afraid of the moment” and might say they want to rise to the challenge but don’t.

Sanders says when Travis “calls for the rock” that “he’s going to win.” And the chemistry of Travis and Shedeur Sanders was almost instant.

This led Deion to describe how Travis hunter might like playing defense but he loves being a wide receiver. Coach Sanders, as the video’s title says, that he could’ve made it into the NFL Hall of Fame as a wide receiver.

Lost in all of this is how Travis Hunter is emerging as a marketing genius. He recently posted that he’d announce his commitment after he got 100K subscribers on YouTube. Hunter is now up to 113K and counting.
