The Eagles were reportedly working the phones to add a new defensive back, and they finally got one.

NFL Insider Ian Rapoport reporters that the City of Brotherly Love is making a move to bring in two-time All-Pro and two-time Pro Bowl Safety, Kevin Byard.

In exchange, the Eagles are sending Safety Terrell Edmunds packing, along with their 2024 fifth-round and sixth-round picks.

Byard, a football magnet, has grabbed 27 interceptions during his eight-year career, also adding 63 passes defended, four sacks, three forced fumbles, and four fumble recoveries. He’s a force to be reckoned with on the field.

The 30-year-old, Byard’s got just one year left on his contract, and there’s no guaranteed money coming his way in 2024.

The Eagles were in a bit of a pickle at the safety position, with Justin Evans and Reed Blankenship nursing injuries.

Last year, the Titans also dealt the Eagles star wideout A.J. Brown, who’s been tearing it up with 125+ yards receiving in five consecutive games. Safe to say, that deal worked out quite well for Philly.

This move to snag Byard is a big win for Eagles’ general manager Howie Roseman.

And it’s got us thinking: who’s the next player the 2-4 Titans are going to part ways with? given their rocky season, anything is possible.
