The Bengals are playing in the AFC Championship for the first time since 1988. However, because the game is being held in Kansas City, Cincinnati fans trying to make the trip are going to have to compete with the notoriously passionate Chiefs fans for tickets.

As a result, the prices are already skyrocketing. Secondary ticket markets are insane:

  • Ticketmaster: least expensive ticket — $445, most expensive ticket — $1,595.
  • SeatGeek: least expensive ticket — $391, most expensive ticket — $3,082.
  • StubHub: least expensive ticket — $432, most expensive ticket — $4,000.
  • VividSeats: least expensive ticket — $384, most expensive ticket — $17,251.

Just to get in the building is going to cost at least $400, give or take. That’s bananas.

Among the people who are trying to get tickets is Bengals defensive back Eli Apple’s mother Annie.

During Saturday’s Divisional Round game against the Titans, Apple made a defensive breakup to knock the ball into the air to set up an interception. Moments later, kicker Evan McPherson came out to win the game with a field goal.

Now, his mom wants to watch her son play in the next round, but she too saw the ticket prices and was sick over the price. She took to Twitter with her reaction to the insane price tag and said that they were too expensive.

In response, somebody tagged her son and said that he should pay for his mom to attend the game. Apple was quick to reply and put his own mother in a body bag with a vicious response.

He said that his mom can watch the game at home, meaning that even he isn’t paying the current ticket price for the woman who gave him life.

The exchange was incredible, and surely Apple was joking. If it really became an issue, he would find a way to get his mom a ticket, right? He has made almost $9 million throughout his six-year career, so even the most expensive seat in the house should be no object.
