Michael Vick is making headlines this weekend for his opinion on Lamar Jackson. The former NFL passer was heard being critical of the Ravens’ signal caller, and now, those comments are going viral.

Vick made an appearance on FOX’s NFL Kickoff alongside former player Charles Woodson and coach Sean Payton. Neither one of those co-hosts sided with Vick on his suggestion for Jackson’s upcoming playoff game.

The Ravens travel to Cincinnati Sunday for the wildcard round of the postseason. After splitting the regular season series, the AFC North foes will square off for a third meeting. Jackson, unfortunately, will miss that matchup due to a PCL sprain.

That injury has kept the quarterback on the sidelines for the last five games, and his status for the rest of the playoffs remains uncertain should Baltimore advance.

While Jackson has been open about what he classifies as a borderline “Grade 3” sprain, many speculate his desire to return to the field. He’s been in a contract battle with the team since the offseason.

The two sides were unable to come to an agreement before the season’s start as Jackson was said to want a fully guaranteed deal. The Ravens’ front office has been unwilling to budge on their stance, making offers which their superstar has rejected.

Michael Vick was one of those people doubting Jackson’s desire to play, and he offered up a questionable suggestion.

“It’s the playoffs, man. You’re three games away. Put a brace on [your knee]. Get it going.

“Put a brace on it, let’s go. I played a whole season on a sprained MCL. A whole season.”

Fans have been quick to rip that opinion.

One person said, “Worst possible advice… That’s exactly what ended RGIII’s career as a starter.”

Another wrote, “Disappointed in Michael Vick for this one.”

Vick didn’t win over many fans with these latest comments. We’ll see if Jackson is able to return to the starting lineup in the postseason, or if his time with the Ravens is through.
