The One Thing You Can Start Doing To Get More Results From Your Workouts

Supplement companies have made millions off of promising to be the one thing you need to take your physique to the next level. Take this pill, mix this powder, or inject this needle and it’s guaranteed to take you to the next level. Even if diet and training are shit.

And while I couldn’t disagree more with these companies over these hyperbolic claims that do no one any level of good whatsoever, I’m here to tell you that there is one thing you can start doing that really will make a massive difference.

That one thing? Routine.

Boring, right? Routine is fucking lame. It’s doing the same damn thing over and over, and that gets old super quick. We all need spontaneity and excitement in our lives. Sticking to a boring routine ruins that.

Except it doesn’t. Implementing routines into your program changes things immensely. It creates freedom that you can count on, because you know exactly how you’ll be eating, when you’ll be eating, when you’ll be training, and what your training will look like.

All of these decisions made beforehand help free up mental energy that you can expend elsewhere.

Still not sold?

Look at the famous boring routines of people like Steve Jobs, Mark Zuckerberg, and President Obama, who all done the same clothes day in and day out. You think that gets old to them? Do you think they even care?

For a more to the point example, think about successful dieters and trainees that you know. The people who have physiques that you covet. I’d be willing to bet those people follow the exact same routine, day in and day out.

  • They probably eat the same breakfast at the same time.
  • They’re pre-lifting warm-up looks the exact same every single day.
  • Unless they’re starting a new program, they’re lifting program probably doesn’t change.

And that’s where the magic happens with so many people. Implementing routines into your diet and training doesn’t make you boring, instead, it just makes you more jacked and even more ripped. Last I checked, there’s nothing wrong with that.

In today’s world where we’re obsessed with consuming media in bite-sized chunks we’ve lost the ability to dig into routines and get lost in the process, which is damaging our ability to grow, both in and out of the gym.

By getting back to this and relying on routines you’re setting yourself up for levels of unparalleled success.

So you’re sold on routine? Here are a few examples that you can start using.

I’m big on routine. I start my day the exact same way every single morning. I eat the same things nearly every single day. I lift the same time and the same way every single day. All of this is huge, because it allows me to not only make better progress, but apply more mental energy throughout the day to tasks that require my actual attention.

Here are some routines you can start adopting to make bigger gains.

  • Eat the same breakfast every morning at the exact same time.
  • Meal prep the same foods each week so you know exactly what you’re having for lunch.
  • Get a program and follow that program at the same time of every day.
  • Go to bed at the same time every night.
  • Wake up every single morning at the exact same time and do the same things.

All of these are pretty basic examples, at first glance. But after putting them into practice I think you’ll notice that they have massive lasting impacts on helping you adhere to tough diets, challenging training programs, and getting more results.
