Former ‘I Am Athlete’ Podcast Co-Hosts Trade Heated Jabs At One Another After Show Falls Apart

The I Am Athlete podcast once looked like the next big thing in sports media.

Started by former Pro Bowl wide receiver Brandon Marshall, the show dove into everything in the sports world from a former athlete perspective.

Fellow ex-NFL players Fred Taylor, Ryan Clark and Channing Crowder later joined Marshall on the show.

But the podcast eventually disappeared, while Taylor, Clark and Crowder later turned up with their own show: The Pivot podcast.

So, what happened?

Well, it appears the two sides have much, much different stories.

Marshall recently appeared on Funky Friday with Cam Newton and said that his co-hosts were to blame for the show’s end.

He claims he currently stands $12 million “in the red” from I Am Athlete and “Everybody else have ate well of this platform,” he said. Marshall says that he paid Crowder, Taylor and Reggie Wayne during their time on the podcast.

He also claims that Taylor sought 25 percent of I Am Athlete as the platform’s valuation started to rise. Taylor allegedly told the former NFL wide receiver that he would contribute financially but never saw a dime after a year.

Newton told Marshall that he believes the former co-hosts were entitled to 25 percent of the show’s value. But Marshall claims that when he tried to take I Am Athlete to Showtime, they didn’t see the value of Taylor and Crowder specifically stating that Showtime “don’t believe in” Taylor, “don’t know who” Crowder.

He later said that Clark was “a little corny but talented” before suggesting his remark should be cut from Newton’s show.

Now Clark, Taylor, and Crowder have responded. And they didn’t hold back.

“A lot of people would agree that he’s embarrassing himself,” Taylor said. “A lot of lying, a lot of manipulative movements, pretty much how he was with everyone he’s encountered.”

While Clark states that Marshall “might be the biggest coward on the planet.”

Crowder took things a step further.

“How you make me when I made your podcast, or our podcast, supposedly, but it wasn’t really ours, as we found out,” he said. “Then go to another one, create another thing that blows up bigger than that even was. That’s the thing that got hot about me. B—- you ain’t make me.”

Something tells us an I Am Athlete reunion won’t be in the works anytime soon.
