Ruthless Bat Flip From Padres Pitcher Is My New Favorite Home Run Celebration

We all remember how epic, and nasty, Jose Bautista’s bat flip was during the playoffs last season during a game against the Texas Rangers, but baseball players everywhere are trying their best to unseat Joey Bats from the top of the totem pole for the best bat flip ever—and San Diego Padres’ pitcher, James Shields, makes a pretty good challenger.

Not only did Shields crack a homer during batting practice, but he hurled his bat in the air as if it were a rocket taking off, declaring immediately afterwards, “that’s how I bat flip, boys!”

Shields might be a pitcher, but dude has the swag like a 40-plus home run slugger with that type of bat flip.
