Jarvis Landry Put On A Master Class In Dodgeball And Proved He’s Got Some Of The Fastest Hands In The Game

In case you missed it, the 2020 Pro Bowl Skills Showdown took place in Orlando and Cleveland Browns wide receiver Jarvis Landry put on a show during the dodgeball game.

Jarvis Landry’s a 5x NFL Pro Bowler and he racked up 1,174 receiving yards this season with the Browns while hauling in 6 touchdowns on the season. The man’s got some of the best hands in the NFL, which I guess is 100% to be expected of an NFL wide receiver, but it’s still wild to see his skills in action.

During the Pro Bowl Skills Showdown dodgeball game, Jarvis threw down some serious mind games on his opponents. Dropping the balls and going free-handed. It’s amazing. He was playing chess while the other team was playing checkers.

I’ve got the full Dodgeball clip below (via YouTube) as well as just the 2-minutes of Jarvis Landry’s greatness (via Twitter). I’d suggest watching the full YouTube clip and jumping ahead if you want but that decision’s all yours.

Fun fact about me and dodgeball: during my senior year of H.S. I tore my meniscus playing dodgeball on ‘Spirit Day’. I had to have it repaired through surgery because it was almost completely destroyed. I recall the doctor’s telling me it was something like an “80% tear”, whatever the shit that means.

I was the last person on my team who hadn’t been thrown out. I went to spin out of the way of a ball thrown by the other team but my foot got wedged in the wet grass and I just spun my body around my knee. I immediately heard the pop, hit the ground, ripping out grass and yelling in pain. Everyone thought it was just some clever acting maneuver to extend the game and one of the other team’s players even threw the ball at me as I sat there writing in pain on the ground.

I think about that injury like once a week these days because after my surgery the doctors gave me a pretty much unlimited supply of pain pills/opioids. These days they regulate those pills so hard. You practically can’t even pick up a prescription for your spouse in Florida if it’s pain pills. But they dumped like 200 opioids on me as a high schooler. I can’t even wrap my mind around a doctor doing that these days with the ‘opioid crisis’ nationwide.
