Former NFL superstar turned media darling Jason Kelce proved he’s a man of many talents on Saturday, winning the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series race at Talladega Superpeedway as a member of the pit crew for driver Corey Day.
Since retiring from his eventual Hall of Fame career with the Philadelphia Eagles, Kelce has done a little bit of everything. He serves as a host for ESPN’s Monday Night Countdown and his podcast, New Heights, alongside his brother Travis.
Kelce also recently attended the Par 3 contest at The Masters, which didn’t sit well with everyone. And now he’s trying his hand in the world of motorsports.

Jason Kelce Wins First NASCAR Race As Member Of Pit Crew
Kelce embedded himself with the powerhouse Hendrick Motorsports team for Saturday’s O’Reilly Auto Parts Series at the legendary superspeedway in Talladega, Alabama.
But he didn’t just watch from the sidelines. Kelce put on a firesuit and got involved, helping the No. 17 team of driver Corey Day move tires back and forth to and from the pit stall, and even assisting with fueling during live pit stops!

As it turns out, Kelce’s help proved instrumental to the team’s victory. Day cycled out with the lead group following the final round of pit stops and took the lead with one lap remaining, holding on for the victory after a crash behind him on the final lap.
Not only was it the first win for Kelce, obviously, but it also marked the first for the 20-year-old Day, who is considered one of the sport’s top prospects.

Afterward, Kelce and his fellow crew members told reporters they’d go and celebrate at Talladega’s Boulevard, a massive infield camping zone known for its raucous parties.
While this may not turn into a full-time gig for Kelce, it does for plenty of football players. NASCAR teams often scout former college football players when looking for future crew members.
During the race, Kelce shadowed Hendrick tire changer Rod Cox, who played linebacker at North Carolina State. So who knows, maybe Jason will decide this is his next passion project?
