Jerry Jones Picks Up Massive Win For 2026 World Cup After Dallas Cowboys’ Embarrassing Playoff Exit

Jerry Jones took a pretty big loss when his Dallas Cowboys once again went crashing out of the NFL playoffs in embarrassing fashion against the Green Bay Packers.

Jones then compounded that embarrassment when he stuck by head coach Mike McCarthy despite McCarthy’s underwhelming playoff track record.

But on-field success is far from Jones’ biggest priority, and he picked up a huge win on Wednesday even as fans routinely derided his ability to lead his organization.

Jack Bezantis of Daily Mail reports that AT&T Stadium in Arlington, which Jones owns and operates, has been selected as the venue for the 2026 FIFA World Cup Final.

The 2026 World Cup will take place in the United States, Canada and Mexico and will be the first ever World Cup with 48 teams.

Dallas (Arlington) is one of 11 US host cities and was chosen over MetLife Stadium in New York, Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas and SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles as the finals venue.

Bezantis reports that “FIFA will confirm the choice later this week and soccer’s governing body is also set to base itself in Texas for the tournament in 2026.”

AT&T Stadium previously hosted games for both the CONCACAF Gold Cup. It will also host games for the 2024 Copa America.

World Cup Final Shows Why Jerry Jones Will Never Change His Ways

And so even despite the loss, Jones gets his way.

Jones’ stadium has generated millions, if not billions, in revenue for non-football events. It played host to several major boxing matches, WWE WrestleMania in 2022, and now the biggest game in world soccer.

All lining the pockets of one of the wealthiest owners in the NFL.

So when Cowboys fans wonder why Jones doesn’t do anything to change his team’s losing ways, they can just point to this.

He’s making his money either way. And the Cowboys are still the league’s most valuable franchise. Like it or not, nothing is changing with Jones in charge.
