JJ Watt didn’t take kindly to some unwarranted criticism of Jets QB Zach Wilson on Sunday. He was seen blasting those critics on social media during New York’s 30-6 win over Houston.

Watt didn’t believe the online berating was necessary, especially in one of the team’s best performances of the season.

Wilson has been the target of mockery for much of his career with the Jets, whether that be for his play on the field or activity away from it. Teammates reportedly grew tired of his attitude earlier this year, though he still has the support of Aaron Rodgers.

Rodgers recently went to bat for Wilson after reports claimed he was turning down an opportunity to start under center. It seems he has another NFL star in his corner, too.

JJ Watt has apparently grown tired of the bashing Zach Wilson’s taken this year, too, after being thrust into the starting role following an Aaron Rodgers Achilles injury.

After seeing an online account take a shot at the passer on Sunday, he responded.

“It’s pouring rain, that field is notoriously suspect, and he slipped trying to make a move,” Watt wrote.”But go ahead and dunk on the kid (who also has his team winning 14-0).”

After a scoreless first half, Wilson got his team out in front with a touchdown pass to Randall Cobb. He’d add another in the fourth quarter, finishing the day with his first 300-yard passing performance of the season.

The win moves the Jets to 5-8 on the season as they hold onto slim playoff hopes. They are currently two games out of the AFC wildcard race.
