John Daly recently had full knee replacement surgery, but he’s not letting that hold him back from enjoying life’s little pleasures. He was spotted earlier this week sipping vodka and sparking Marlboro reds in Florida.

Fun is something that’s become synonymous with the golf star, and a little procedure isn’t going to put a halt to the good-time lifestyle.

Daly was in the hospital just a few weeks ago as he had that knee replacement surgery before the Christmas holiday. Fast forward to the New Year and he’s kicking 2023 off in the best possible way. The golfer attended an event in Jacksonville where he helped raise money for the John Daly Major Ed Foundation.

The foundation’s initiative is to “provide mental, physical, and wellness support to children, first responders, and veterans,” according to its website. But while the main goal at hand was promoting a good cause, there’s no reason you can’t enjoy yourself in doing so.

The event was held at the San Jose Country Club, and it included a round of golf as well as brunch and drinks for participants. It also included Hooters, which has become a staple in the PGAer’s sponsorship arsenal.

A number of the restaurant’s employees were on hand for the golf benefit, and they couldn’t pass up a photo op with John Daly.

While he may have hosted this latest tournament, he was unable to join the field due to the recent surgery. That doesn’t mean he’ll be off the course for long. With the average recovery time being around 2-3 months, he could be back by spring. And he’ll certainly have plenty of time to prep for another belly flopping clinic come Memorial Day.

John Daly continues to be a legend on and off the links.
