Jim Harbaugh is known for being one of the most eccentric figures in college football, and his legend has only grown courtesy of a former Michigan player who saw him taking an ice bath while rocking a polo and his signature khakis.

By now, it’s pretty hard to be shocked by any story that revolves around Jim Harbaugh doing something that would make Hank Hill furrow his brow, shake his head, and utter, “That boy ain’t right.”

After all, we’re talking about a man who once climbed a tree to impress a recruit, invited himself to a sleepover at another’s house, and (my personal favorite) stalked a 10-year-old kid during a game of laser tag to ensure he’d finish at the top of the leaderboard.

You also can’t talk about Harbaugh without discussing his undying love for the khakis that once served as the statement piece of the unofficial uniform he rocked on the sidelines while coaching the Michigan Wolverines. He’s sadly decided to switch things up a bit in recent years, but based on what one of his former players had to say, he still has an amusing relationship with those tan pants.

Ex-Michigan cornerback Josh Wallace headed to Indianapolis for the NFL Combine this week, and on Friday, he got the chance to chat with the media during a press conference where one reporter asked him to recall his first impression of his old head coach.

Wallace had to think for a bit, but he eventually shared an incredibly on-brand anecdote concerning a hilarious scene he encountered during his first summer in Ann Arbor.

Here’s what he had to say:

“My first couple of weeks up at Michigan, we had summer workouts. Coach Harbaugh, he works out in the morning.

I walked past our cold tub room—we call it the “Car Wash—and he’s in a full uniform; he had his khakis and polo on in the ice tub. It was crazy.”

Never change, Jim. Never change.
