The Texas football team hosted five-star defender Justus Terry on Saturday for a matchup against Georgia. The visit quickly backfired due to the Bulldogs’ dominance on the field!
Terry recapped his trip to Austin after the fact, speaking more highly on UGA than the Longhorns. Georgia’s performance certainly made an impact.
The ‘Dawgs downed the ‘Horns 30-15 thanks to a strong defensive effort. Georgia shut Texas out in the first half of play to build a 23-0 lead.
From there, they’d coast.
The defense harassed Quinn Ewers throughout the night, leading to a brief benching for Arch Manning. The Bulldogs racked up seven sacks and 10 tackles for loss to hand the Longhorns their first loss of the season.
Justus Terry was on the sidelines to take in that dominant performance. He says he could see himself becoming a part of future UGA defenses over the next few years.
“[Georgia] made a big jump for me. I can just picture myself out there with the future Dawgs you know just making plays and getting licks so that’s something I was looking forward to.”
-Justus Terry
Terry is a consensus Top 15 player in the 2025 class and five-star prospect. Texas was attempting to get back in his recruitment by hosting the defender for its biggest home game of the year.

The lineman previously committed to the Bulldogs before flipping to USC, then retracting that pledge. He’s currently uncommitted with hopes of signing in the Early Period.
Justus Terry hails from the Peach State, making Georgia the team to beat in the race, though schools like Alabama and Florida State are still heavily involved.
Texas hoped to become a part of that conversation. Their attempts failed miserably!

Georgia’s dominance seems to have once again made them the frontrunner. Ironically, the momentum gained came on a rival’s dime!
Terry will have a few more months to think about where he wants to play college football. He plans to make his decision in early December.
