Kansas City Chiefs’ Kadarius Toney has a reputation as a player prone to really silly mistakes at inopportune times. And, that’s exactly what happened late in the 4th quarter of the Kansas City Chiefs’ 20-17 loss to the Buffalo Bills.

Driving for the potential game-tying or game-winning score, Patrick Mahomes found Travis Kelce wide open in the middle of the field for a huge gain. And, Kelce made an ingenious decision, throwing a perfect lateral to Kadarius Toney in-stride for what looked to be the game-winning touchdown.

But, Toney had lined up in the neutral zone on the play, negating an incredible touchdown that would have been a higlight for years to come.

Never forget the moment that Toney robbed us of.

A few plays later, the game was all-but over after three straight incompletions. And, Kadarius Toney is persona non grata in Kansas City. And, who knows, maybe Toney will get a diss track in the next Taylor Swift album.

It’s not the first time that Kadarius Toney has cost the Kansas City Chiefs a game this year. Go all the way back in week one, when terrible four terrible drops, one that led to a pick-six, cost the team their game against the Lions.

This has to be the end of the road for Toney in Kansas City, right? The only reason he’s getting any playing time at all is because the wide receiver corps for the Chiefs is absolutely dreadful. But, this is now two games he’s cost the team through easily preventable mistakes. At some point, a team has to lose trust in a player.

It was a huge loss, too. The Chiefs are now two games in the loss column behind the Ravens and the Dolphins in the race for the top seed in the AFC. And, sneakily, their lead in the division is just one game over the Denver Broncos. Not great.
