Popular NFL Network personality Kyle Brandt took aim at the male sports fans who are obsessing over the fashion choices of another man, the presumed #1 overall pick in this April’s NFL Draft, Caleb Williams.

The discussion about Williams began stemmed from Williams’ appearnace at USC’s Women’s NCAA Tournament game, where he was seen sporting pink nail polish, a pink phone case, and a pink wallet. Some online even speculated he was wearing lip gloss.

The conversation that unfolded thereafter was a predictable one, with trolls on Twitter suggesting that Williams’ stylistic choices mean he can’t be a successful quarterback, prompting people like former Heisman winner Robert Griffin III and Brandt to come to William’s defense.

Before getting into the teeth of his opinion, Brandt specified that the discussion around Williams’ is being fueled by a “big old dollop of homophobia.”

Brandt not only called out Williams’ hater but dissected the arguments they’re making one by one.

“Next take, I love this one: ‘That’s not going to work in the locker room. Those are the words of the most basic bad radio caller to a terrible radio show in 1992,” Brandt said during his rant.

“‘That’s not going to work in the locker room?’ What the hell do you know? Do you know D.J. Moore? Do you know Cole Kmet? Do you know Darnell Wright? Do you know that the personalities and perspectives in this league have evolved dramatically? Do you know the head coach of the 2024 Bear is not Bill Parcells? This is a different time.”

Fox Sports 1 host Colin Cowherd also had similar thoughts about Williams.

When the NFL Draft kicks on Thursday, April 25, Williams is expected to be taken with the first overall pick by the Chicago Bears, who shipped former first-round pick Justin Fields to the Pittsburgh Steelers earlier in the offseason.

Williams, 22 years old, began his college career at the University of Oklahoma in 2021 before following head coach Lincoln Riley to USC, where he was their starter in 2022 and 2023, winning the Heisman Trophy during his first season with the team.
