Lane Kiffin had a chuckle at the expense of Texas A&M on Monday night He continues to be the most entertaining coach on social media!

The Aggies contend that they are not involved with a cult. The head coach at Ole Miss might disagree.

Among the many traditions down in College Station, the Aggie War Hymn is the most famous. Fans, players and coaches wrap their arms around each other to sway back and forth while singing along.

The hymn, which serves as the unofficial fight song, dates back to 1918. It was written by one of the many Aggies who fought in World War I and begins with an old bugle call used by the U.S. Army.

Texas A&M was founded as a military institution. The Corps of Cadets is the largest student organization on campus today, even though only 45% (or less) of participants actually continue on to receive commissions as officers in the United States armed forces.

It is definitely not a cult. It is totally normal for students to spend two years as part of a fake military before more than half of them decide not to join the military.

As is the Aggie War Hymn. Totally normal!

New head football coach Mike Elko was introduced on Monday night. They, of course, sang the War Hymn to conclude the ceremony.

Dave Portnoy saw the video and offered his opinion.

This school is so fun to laugh at.

Enough said!

Portnoy and Kiffin find the War Hymn to be… unique. The former finds it to be hilarious. The latter said everything that needed to be said.

Texas A&M and Ole Miss won’t play in 2024. Elko will have to wait until 2025 for his first shot at Lane Kiffin!
