NBA star LeBron James is reportedly “very concerned” about a group of squatters that recently overtook a mansion in his neighborhood and have been throwing nightly ragers. Other notable neighbors include Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck, and all remained powerless to what was happening in their 90210 community.

The wild story involves a fugitive doctor, that rowdy bunch of party hosts, and a group of high-profile (and extremely peeved!) neighbors.

More from Curbed:

After a fugitive doctor abandoned his mansion, an enterprising group of party throwers slid in the front door… the neighbors are entrepreneurs, hedge-fund investors, heiresses, studio executives, actors, and the actors’ agents.

[One home] had been on the market, sitting empty for months, when, in October, [neighbors] spotted a car in the driveway… Whoever had moved in did not belong there.

Those new tenants took over the mansion and made it their own personal party palace. Nightly raves were reported to take place with neighborhood streets remaining in a constant traffic jam.

Neighbors were frustrated with the lack of legal action taken to force the partiers out, going as far as to start a group chat to both vent and find a solution.

LeBron James was “very concerned” about the squatters.

At least, that’s what his house manager is quoted as saying in the story.

Apparently, the squatters had been able to skirt squatting policies set forth by the state of California. By providing a lease, an internet bill, and a driver’s license with the permanent address, the party hosts remained untouched by local authorities.

They were even making money off the venture!

A $75 entry fee was being charged at the door as boatloads of rave-goers looked to get in on the fun. The NY Post writes that that admission climbed to as much as $1,500 on some occasions.

The man at the head of the operation also began renting rooms out to further boost that income.

It does seem, according to that NY Post piece, that the run is coming to an end soon. Eviction proceedings were set into motion earlier this year, leading to a settlement with the owner.

As for LeBron James, the squatter situation offers a worst-case scenario. The basketball star, who purchased the property to tear down the original mansion on the grounds, is in the process of building his dream home.

He’ll be sure to have an eye on any more sketchy activity occurring in his new neighborhood.
