LeBron James was undoubtedly the top player in the 2013 NBA season. A member of the Miami Heat at the time, the superstar nearly made league history with a postseason honor.

One voter kept that feat from happening, however, and now, LeBron is threatening to expose him!

James averaged 26.8 points, 8.0 rebounds, and 7.3 assists a night in that championship season as the Heat landed their second consecutive NBA title.

That output was rewarded with a fourth MVP award in five years.

This one was particularly special as the voting reflected a season of true on-court dominance. James earned 120 of the 121 MVP votes come season’s end, falling a single tally shy of a clean sweep – and NBA history!

He believes he deserved the honor of becoming the first unanimous MVP, and he said as much in a recent interview.

“I also had an opportunity to be the first unanimous MVP if I’d gotten all 120 votes,” he said. “But I got 119.”

He took things a step further in that response, threatening to reveal the identity of that rogue voter.

“I know who the one vote was,” James continued. “He voted for Carmelo… It was a writer from Boston – of course! I know his name, too, but I ain’t gonna give him that light just yet. I’ll wait for the doc on that one.”

While that voter might’ve already outed himself, LeBron wasn’t willing to confirm suspicions just yet.

It wasn’t the only snub he saw that season, at least in his eyes.

LeBron James believes he should’ve been Defensive Player of the Year.

He’d end up finishing runner-up to Memphis’s Marc Gasol.

This came despite being named first-team All-Defense, while the Grizzlies center only earned second-team honors. At the time, coaches voted for the All-NBA teams while media handed out the yearly awards.

Those two parties apparently had differing opinions on the most deserving players.

While James feels snubbed on that pair of individual awards, they won’t take away from all that was accomplished for Miami on the floor.

A few years later, Steph Curry would become the first player to be named unanimous MVP with the Golden State Warriors.
