As it turns out, Draymond Green‘s “indefinite” NBA suspension for throwing a haymaker at Phoenix Suns big man Jusuf Nurkic may not be all that indefinite after all.

Green was suspended last Wednesday following yet another altercation involving the star.

As part of his suspension, Green has been ordered to receive counseling, which many believe doesn’t actually address the root cause of the issue.

Now Shams Charania of The Athletic reports that Green does actually have a definitive timeline to return to return to the court.

“Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green has started counseling and is expected to remain sidelined via suspension for at least the next three weeks,” Charania reports.

Green refused to take blame for what appeared to be a pretty blatant punch following the game.

“As you know, I’m not one to apologize for things I meant to do. But I do apologize to Jusuf. Because I didn’t intend to hit him. I sell calls with my arms,” he said.

But Warriors coach Steve Kerr said that the time away could be go for his star forward.

“To me, this is about more than basketball. It’s about helping Draymond,” Kerr said. “I think it’s an opportunity for Draymond to step away and to make a change in his approach and his life and that’s not an easy thing to do. That’s not something you say, ‘OK, five games and then he’s going to be fine.’”

Maybe Green just wanted some extra time off around the holidays?

I mean, who could blame him?

Or maybe he really didn’t mean to Nurkic?

Though that one is a little less believable.

Either way, it appears that he’ll be out at least the next three weeks. Hopefully when he returns it’ll be with way less punching, choking, or kicking guys in the balls.
