Mason Rudolph is back in the starting lineup as the Steelers announced the career backup will take over for Mitchell Trubisky. Unfortunately, most NFL fans don’t foresee much of a change for the Pittsburgh offense.

Appearing in five games this season, Trubisky has amassed four touchdowns and five interceptions while posting an 0-2 record as a starter.

Inserted into the lineup after an injury to Kenny Pickett, he’s struggled to find success.

Pittsburgh has managed just 31 points over the last two weeks, with 14 coming thanks to short fields set up by blocked punts. Trubisky has failed to top the 200-yard mark this year.

With the Steelers riding a three-game losing streak in the midst of a playoff push, Mike Tomlin is looking for a spark. Mason Rudolph will replace Mitchell Trubisky as Pickett continues to recover.

Rudolph has been with the organization each of his four professional seasons, posting a 5-4-1 record as a starter. In that time, he’s thrown 16 scores to 11 picks, though he’s maybe best remembered for being hit with his own helmet by Myles Garrett.

While he’s seen a tad more success in a Steelers uniform than Trubisky, most NFL fans don’t believe the change will help. Everyone posted the same reaction to seeing the switch.

Steelers fans have seen this play out before, and it’s safe to say they aren’t looking forward to Rudolph’s debut.

Trubisky to Rudolph… I’ll watch it but lord help us.”

“How far have we fallen as a franchise.”

“Steelers going from one bad QB to another… We’re grasping at straws.”

We’ll soon see if Mason Rudolph makes an impact against the Bengals. At 7-7, Pittsburgh is on the outside looking in when it comes to the playoff picture. A win over Cincinnati, who is currently one game up and in control of the No. 6 seed, would go a long way for their postseason chances.
