The Miami Marlins have tracked down the “very good boy” who went viral for wanting his own hot dog during the team’s “Bark at the Park” night on Monday.

Millions of fans were moved when the Marlins’ broadcast cameras captured what happened during their game versus the Texas Rangers at LoanDepot Park.

In the top of the seventh inning, a dog in the stands was chowing down on a hot dog given to it by its owners. Another pup, sitting quietly just a few feet away, was caught on camera observing each bite with a longing look on its face that every dog owner is very familiar with.

After seeing the footage, the Miami Marlins, like just about everyone who saw it, wanted to do something for the poor pup who had to watch while another dog lived out his dream.

“Wanted: A very good boy. Reward: a dream day at @LoanDepot Park,” the team wrote on X the next day.

It didn’t take long to identify the patient pup, and his name is Jonah. According to his owner, Peter Silveira, Jonah gives that look all the time.

The 6-year-old dog, whom Silveira rescued in Aruba, wasn’t completely deprived of a culinary treat that day, as it turns out.

“He’s had a smoked turkey dog, because a regular hot dog would destroy his stomach. I mean, if you guys want to come over and clean up after that, you’re more than welcome,” Silveira told Local 10 News.

“It’s pretty cool. I wasn’t ever expecting it. Everyone’s always said he’s like the greatest dog, so I guess it’s natural and he was just waiting for his moment,” he added.

Although the Marlins haven’t stated the details of what Jonah’s “dream day at the ballpark” will entail, it’s safe to say it will be a day he and his owners won’t forget.
