The Hornets have already had a somewhat tumultuous year thanks to the drama surrounding Kai Jones, and things took yet another turn after an arrest warrant was issued for Miles Bridges. However, the forward seemed to proclaim his innocence with the help of a picture of Johnny Depp.

Bridges was previously arrested on the day he became a free agent in 2022 after being accused of assaulting Mychelle Johnson in front of the two children they’ve had together. He eventually pled no contest to a domestic abuse charge but managed to avoid jail time after being hit with three years of probation.

The deal he struck also included a 10-year restraining order that prohibits him from coming into contact with Johnson, but based on the report that surfaced on Thursday, he allegedly violated the terms during an incident in Charlotte where police claim he threw billiards balls at her car while their kids were inside.

Neither Bridges nor the Hornets have issued an official statement concerning those charges as of this writing, but it appears the forward responded to that development on Thursday night when he temporarily changed his profile picture on The Website Formerly Known As Twitter to a picture of Johnny Deep.

As you likely know, Depp was engaged in a high-profile defamation lawsuit against ex-wife Amber Heard that unfolded in 2022. He sued the actress for claiming he physically abused her during their relationship and was ultimately vindicated after a jury ruled there was no evidence to support the accusations while awarding him more than $10 million in damages.

It doesn’t take a genius to figure out Bridges used the picture in question to assert the charges against him don’t have any merit. He’s obviously innocent until proven guilty, so we’ll just have to wait and see how this plays out.
