This Military Father Sprinting Onto The Field During A Florida Gators Game To Surprise His Family Is Everything

Florida fans had a lot to be excited about on Saturday night. They got to watch their 25th ranked Gators dismantle an Ole Miss team who many believed to be the best team in the country, despite their #3 ranking.

But 38-10 win may have been the second most important takeaway of the night, overshadowed by a very emotional reunion between a military father and his family.

According to Uproxx, Chief Warrant Officer Kristian Denkins just returned home from Afghanistan, where he recently completed his fifth tour of duty. His wife and four children were invited on the field for his homecoming, and were overcome with emotion before their patriarch  sprinted onto the field to a deafening chorus of 80,000+ screaming fans.

The reunion serves not only as a reminder of the sacrifices made by not only our soldiers and their families, but the overwhelming response from fans at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium highlights the fact that people, generally speaking, are good. And in today’s day and age, those reminders are comforting, if not necessary.

The anti-drug people gave him a $50 savings bond for his brave contribution to crime-fighting, and upon the bond’s maturity 10 years later, he used it to buy his very first bag of marijuana.
